Distance Education Advisory Board
Distance education programs, policies, assessment and improvement are overseen by the Distance Education Advisory Board (DEAB). The DEAB is an advisory body to the Dean of Graduate Studies. The members of the Distance Education Advisory Committee are as follows:
- The DEAB is Chaired by the Dean of Graduate Studies.
- There is one representative from each of New Mexico Tech's distance education programs.
- The Associate Vice President of Academic Affairs.
- The Director of the Academic Center for Technology.
- Any additional individuals, as requested by the Graduate Dean.

- Distance Education Resource Guide: The DEAB has developed a Resource Guide that provides guidance to faculty on distance
education courses and programs - related to academic integrity, quality assurance,
oversight, student engagement, and assessment. For more information, please access
this guide using the Advisory Board's shared folder (the file is Distance_Education_Resource_
Guide.pdf). - Checklist for Distance Education NMT Courses: Each semester, instructors of distance education courses should complete the Checklist for Distance Education NMT Courses prior to the start of classes.
Instructors should review the information entered into the checklist for their courses with their Department Chairperson/Program Director prior to submission. If there are any questions about the checklist, please contact Academic Affairs at vpaa@hwfj-art.com.
